Sony Announced New Games, Remasters & Release Updates in PlayStation State of Play 2025

It’s been a few hours since the Sony Playstation State of Play 2025 event happened. Just like game freaks were expecting, this 40 minute power-packed event revealed more than 30 announcements about lined up PS5 Games. At the event, Sony pulled back the curtain on several games by revealing their release dates, new titles, and upcoming expansions.

So basically the whole event was about how Playstaion is focused on variety of genres and improved gameplay.

Sony PlayStation State of Play 2025: New Game Announcements

PlayStation State of Play event was not a big time consuming event. But as we expected, Sony came with several new game announcements.

1. Saros: Sony again stunned gaming enthusiasts by dropping the Saros game which is developed by housemarque. So this is a Sci-fi game which is set of Carcosa planet. It’ll be live on Sony Playstation in 2026, the release date is not disclosed yet.
2. Hell is Us: in back to back announcements sony unveiled another masterpiece; Hell is Us. A marvellous horror game which is based on Harry-Potter theme. Although it has no in-game map, you will experience a great unique concept.You can enjoy playing after its release on 4th September, 2025.
3. Metal Eden: After two surprising announcements, we saw Metal Eden coming to the land of playstation’s surface. Yet another splendid first person shooter game full of adrenaline. A game in which users can extract the core and use the enemy’s core to play. I personally can’t wait to experience this amazing game as it releases on 6 May, 2025.
4. Directive 8020: Sony then introduced Directive 8020 which is basically a supermassive sci-fi based horror game. A unique concept where the user searches for a place to live after earth dies. This horror based survival game is set to make its debut on 2 october , 2025.

Remastered Old Games with Enhanced Gameplay and Expansions

In the exciting event Sony talked about the game remasters with enhanced visuals, audio and gameplay as well as Expansions. A well known game “ Days Gone” is coming with its Remastered version to PS5 on April 25, 2025. In its remastered version you will see new models like Permadeath and Speedrun modes.

The most popular and fan loving game “Five Nights at Freddy” is back. Along with this anothe new game “Secret of the Mimic” will also be launching on June 13, 2025. Another update came from the Lies of P game which is getting a prequel named Overture. Lies of P’s expansion will come live anytime in between summers.

Apart from that we saw a new trailer for Onimusha game: Way of the sword. But there’s a disappointment that this game is not getting released until next year.

Long Awaited Game Releases

As the event was going on everyone was excited to know about their favourite games they must be waiting for so long. Here are sony’s most anticipated game updates:

1. 1. Bordelands 4: We saw a new trailer of the game in the event. It is ready to take gaming to the next level on 23 September, 2025.
   2. Metal Gear Solid Delta- Snake Eater: the game is scheduled to arrive on 28 August, 2025. Fans of this game are excited about its previous Ape-escape themed mode.
   3. Monster Hunter Wilds: The games coming out on February 28, 2025. Capcom also confirmed Mizutsune and event quests in its first post-launch update.
   4. Shinobi- Art of Vengeance: Developed by the team behind Streets of Rage 4, this groundbreaking game will go live on August 29, 2025.
   5. Sonic Racing- CrossWorlds: Sonic fans will also have a smile as their favorite game will release later this year.

Crossovers and Other Announcements

After all the releases, remastered games and updates, Sony revealed collaborations and crossovers. Stellar Blade will have a crossover with Goddess of Victory: Nikke. A PC version of Stellar Blade is also coming in June 2025.

Dave the Diver will be crossingover with Like a Dragon. It comes with a side-scrolling beat ‘em up mode and is going to be launched in April 2025.

A new Digimon RPG called Digimon Story Time Stranger was also announced. It will let players switch between the human and digital worlds.

Another quirky title, Darwin’s Paradox, lets players control an octopus in a food factory. The game features climbing, camouflaging, and ink-shooting mechanics.
